Well, comic fans, this isn't for you. Go back to your books. Now, comic movie fans listen up. Finally, after seemingly endless search, the Scion of Asgard has been cast. That's right, the lead actor in the 2011 movie, Thor, was matched with his real life counterpart on Sunday. The actor is Chris Hemsworth. "Who the hell is that?" you may be asking. Well you may know him from his number of guest appearances on Australian television networks but probably not. You may also know him as George Samuel Kirk from the recent Star Trek film. Ok so he hasn't been in much but at least he's got the look right?

Well, big name aside, at least he officially has an identity. That's really all I need to have high hopes behind this movie ever actually coming out. Once they name the main actor it's almost a given that we will see the movie in theaters. If they cancel now it's going to be a hell of a problem. By the way, Thor enthusiasts (and Norse mythology enthusiasts) will know Thor has a brother. Good news, his actor has been confirmed as well. He will be portrayed by British actor, Tom Hiddleston. He is possible a little more well known but if Hemsworth is supposed to be Reeves or Routh then the casting guys failed to find their Hackman/Spacey if you know what I mean. Below you'll find a pic of the God of Mischief.

Let's just hope picking two actors who have yet to make it big here in the states as the main roles in a movie that will live or die by how it does here won't have a negative effect on the movie. The way I see it, if they screw Thor up, they might as well trash the whole Avengers project. Here's hoping that the movie lives up to Hulk and Iron Man before it. Chyeah!
